With great satisfaction and pride, the National Bank of Commerce of Timor-Leste (BNCTL), S.A., in partnership with the Customs Authority and the Timor-Leste Single Window (TiLeSW), launched the Customs E-Payment system through BNCTL’s Internet/Mobile Banking for Client Customs Clearance.
The purpose of this launch is to facilitate clients—whether importing companies, exporting companies, or government agencies—by providing a simpler, faster, and more secure solution. Through BNCTL’s Internet/Mobile Banking, users can make payments for goods anytime and anywhere.
In his statement, Mr. Teófilo António Soares Maia, an intermediary in the process of importing goods, emphasized that it is much easier to make customs payments using BNCTL’s Internet/Mobile Banking, as it saves time and eliminates the need to travel to ministries, banks, or ATMs to process payments.
The ceremony was attended by Her Excellency the Minister of Finance, Mrs. Santina José Rodrigues Cardoso, the Governor of the Central Bank of Timor-Leste (BCTL), Mr. Helder Lopes, the Commissioner of the Customs Authority, Mr. Joanico da Gama, the Chairman of BNCTL’s Board of Directors, Mr. Januário da Gama, the President of BNCTL’s Executive Commission, Mr. Marcelo da Cruz Carvalho, the Ambassador of the Philippines to Timor-Leste, as well as representatives from the Customs team and BNCTL’s technical team.
